What Dreams Are Made Of

In an earlier post, I talked about my dream and goal of moving to solely writing full-time and scaling back my retail day job so that I could focus on writing. I hoped to be ready by the end of this year or the beginning of next year, but due to me taking a chance on myself and putting my resume out there like crazy, I landed a couple writing jobs and a solid part-time weekend job.

The jobs that I’ve landed are all doing things that I love and in a more professional sense, I can add things to my resume that I’ve been wanting to add. Hopefully, that’ll allow me to break into game writing and writing content for websites or companies.

While I’m transitioning jobs and settling into my new schedule, I’ll only be focusing on editing my novel Out of the Machine; Into the Heart, my science fiction detective story, for submitting to various publishers. Once that’s done and my schedule frees up, I’ll return to my writing schedule and take on the challenge of accomplishing more.

It’s hard to explain how it feels at the moment to know that I’m exactly where I’d hope to be at this point in my writing career. Deep down there is a fear that graces me and scares me because I know I’m betting big on my talents, but there’s another bigger feeling that knows this is the right move.
